The SI3000 Pono is a unique product for a smooth transition from DSL or COAX to fiber-based access. With a high port density and compact design it offers a cost-effective solution, enabling both GPON and FE/GE P2P Ethernet technologies on the same box with a 1:64 GPON split ratio and a maximum subscriber reach of up to 60 km.
A small initial investment and easy installation is followed by the low power consumption of the 1U design that not only reduces the CAPEX but also gives the opportunity for low maintenance costs in cooling, power supplies and batteries. Apart from the low requirements, the 512 subscribers that can be connected onto a single 1U box guarantee a high ARPU.
It can be used as either a GPON or GE P2P optical access device or a combination of both. The SI3000 PONO equipment offers optical power diagnostics on the line and end-to-end management (managing OLT and ONT) using OMCI (ONT Management Control Interface) functionality.
The SI3000 PONO offers several management options. It can be managed via CLI, web-based GUI or throughout a central management system called SI3000 MNS 2.0, a Network Management System for the whole SI3000 products family.
The SI3000 PONO is designed as open access architecture equipment that enables an open-access market on the service provider side and multi-vendor service selection on the customer’s side.
The SI3000 PONO is a cost-effective solution for small and medium-sized CO (Central Office) locations as well as for an outdoor shelter extension with GPON capability. Scenarios like Fiber from CO, FTTP, or FTTB and similar are covered in a cost-effective way with SI3000 PONO.
Along with a huge capacity of 512 subscribers per 1U box, it offers DBA – Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation – for upstream bandwidth assurance to optimize your network usage. Pono uplinks can be connected in the network in ring, star or cascade topology.
